Graham Phillips, a second generation Pharmacist, is a passionate believer in the future of Pharmacy. He graduated B.Pharm (Hons) from the School of Pharmacy, London University in 1981 and completed his pre-registration year (MRPharmS 1982) with Kingswood Chemists, now part of the Lloyds Group. He then managed branches of two small independent Pharmacy chains before going into business in his own right in 1985.

He is currently Managing Director of the award-winning Manor Pharmacy Group with seven branches based in Hertfordshire.

Graham enjoys working with local GPs, and took time out in 1996 to study for a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy at Kings College. This led the GPs to invite him to become Prescribing Lead for his local Primary Care Group in 2000 and, later, the St Albans and Harpenden Primary Care Trust. He was PCT prescribing lead, and both a PEC and Board member.

Having completed his diploma he now enjoys strong practice and research links with the School of Pharmacy, University of Hertfordshire

He has been involved with pharmacy politics for many years, commencing with membership of Hertfordshire Local Pharmaceutical Committee in 1990. He was elected to the Board of the National Pharmacy Association in 1994 until retiring in 2002 upon his election to the Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society where he chaired the Communications Group and the Education Committee.

He has a long-term interest in the role of pharmacy in public health especially in the arenas of men's health and weight management.

Graham lives in St Albans with his wife Kathryn and two teenage sons, Simon and Robert. His interests outside pharmacy are music, reading, classic cars and computing.
