Your BMI measurement may indicate that losing a few pounds is a good idea. But where do you start? Beginning a weight loss plan can be daunting at first but there are many ways to do this and lots of support and advice available. The Families section of our main website is full of facts and tips about ways of losing weight.
To lose weight successfully, it’s often a good idea to make some small changes that you can sustain for the long-term. There are many things you can do to begin to adopt a healthier lifestyle. One first step might be to eat five pieces of fruit or vegetables a day or take a short daily walk.
You can also ask your pharmacist about weight management advice and programmes. Your pharmacist is your local high street health expert and they will be able to talk to you about a number of ways of controlling your weight including clinically approved weight loss medication. In all cases, however, it is getting your lifestyle right that is the key to success.
Understanding and achieving a healthy weight that is right for you can sometimes be difficult and there is no quick fix. However, setting out a plan of action and achieving your challenge can be extremely rewarding.
