Feed kids home cooked meals

Independent

American researchers have discovered that meals in a fast-food lunch restaurant located inside a children's hospital accounted for up to 50% of a child's daily calorific needs. Over one-third came from fat and the meal provided 50% of the daily recommended total daily sodium intake for most children.  For preschoolers that intake shot up to 100%! [Childhood and Obesity: Aug 2011]. The researchers recommend that children are fed at home - and are backed up by a second study confirming that people tend to eat more nutricious meals at home than when dining out [American Journal of Clnical Nutrition: July 2011].

How can the researchers so easily have dismissed condemning the children's hospital for allowing the franchise to operate inside it!   Also, the sdtory is nothing new - Which? was reporting in 2009 that UK 11 - 14yr olds kids were consuming up to 75% sof their salt intake at a single sitting in McDionalds and Burger King!
